Leonaspis
Family: Odontopleuridae
Era: Devonian
Locality: Southeast Morocco
Size: 1"-3"

Leonaspis-1

I really like name on this guy, its like, so scifi! Doesn't he just remind you
of a spaceship? Like one of those bad guy spaceships from Babylon 5 or Star
Wars? Ya, lets just call him Leo. Now Leo is one well protected
dude; he's got a dozen spines, four of which are longer than his body. He's got
a number of fine spines along the sides, front, and axis of his body as well,
and a small horn as a head ornament. Personally, I think Leo is light enough to
swim and that some of his spines may assist in locomotion or steering. Very
groovy.

Leonaspis-2

This Leo is partially enrolled and doesn't have long secondary spines, just some
really long genal spines. Sexual dimorphism maybe? Neat eyes and nice attempt at
curling.

Leonaspis-3

This one is a Leo too surprisingly. Strangely the spines are all shorter and
there are no fine spines along the axis or sides.
