Diademaproetus
Family: Tropidocoryphidae
Era: Early- Middle Devonian
Locality: Jbel Issoumour, Morocco
Size: 1-1.5"

Diademaproetus-1

Here's another one from the proetus group. This one's a little more
interesting than your regular proetus or your cornuproetus. What makes this one
more interesting is that it has a scoop! What the heck is that scoop used for? I
have a feeling its a type of microfilter, like the other filter feeders. The
eyes on this guy are really cool, they're like polished beads! The thick spine
is interesting to note as well.
