Cyphaspis
Family: Aulacopleuridae
Era: Early-Middle Devonian
Locality: Jbel Issoumour, Morocco
Size: Under 1".

Cyphaspis-1

These are neat little guys. It's like they're sporting radar domes on their
heads... or that they have really big noses. The genal spines along the head are
pretty neat too but overall this guy looks weak. He does seem light enough to
swim though. The mini eye stalks should provide decent vision.

Cyphaspis-2

This is a neat piece, you've got two cyphaspi and one proetus. It's like these
guys are just hanging out or something, or maybe the cyphaspi are ganging up on
the little guy. Note on this specimen the back spine is still attached. Awesome
3-D preservation! These guys are climbing up the wall!

Cyphaspis-3

On this one, you can see all three spines, and the "sweepers" along the front.
These are like little claw spines that protrude towards the sides. Not sure what
they do. Perhaps its a sexual dimorphic feature? Separating this from the a
cyphaspis of another sex? Just my speculation.
