Rajiformes (Rays)
The rays and skates of the Lebanon Lagerstatte are rather interesting and
very dynamic. Several dozen species have been found in the formation, with great
preservation throughout.
Rhinobatos: Leb-005
     
The specimen from the order Rhinobatos is a a pretty good specimen of an average
ray. The vertebrate section is very well preserved. Skin and cartilage details
are pretty well preserved; you can see all the fins cleanly. Eye section and
central body details are very good. The crack is the only detriment to the
specimen but it is well glued and semi-repaired.
Measures: 28 cm nose to tail.
