Prionolepis (Saw scale)
Prionolepis was a predatory fish with large jaws that died out later on in
the Cretaceous. These fish are very robust and have a very solid scale pattern.
Occasionally you can find them with other fish in their stomachs.

Here is a very nice specimen that was preserved vertically. All the scales are
splayed out to the sides and the skull is flattened. It's a pretty large
specimen. One small repaired crack towards tail.

Another specimen that was in place vertically. The scales and ribs are both
splayed out nicely. The vertebraes are very well preserved. Fins are also very
nice and so is the tail. Very large specimen.

for two large fish on one plate.
