Green River insect fossils

The Green River formation is the resulting deposits of an ancient lake that covers parts of Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming during the Eocene. The fossils represented here are insects from the Parachute member of the Green River formation, 46-47 Million years old, from the Hawes Quarry in Rio Blanco County, Colorado.

The purpose of this portion of the site is just a visual catalog of fossil insects from the Rio Blanco County site. Some of them may be for sale while others have been sold or donated. Some of the more unique pieces will remain in my collection. See the Green River section of my store to see which ones are still available for sale.

The insect orders on this page are organized by Order until a better identification can be made.
