Many of the diptera from the Liaoning formation are very well preserved with
excellent wing and leg preservation. Probably an indicator of quick burial.

Now this is very interesting; it appears to be a large fly, possibly a bott fly
or horsefly. Large eyes on the specimen. There's also another insect on this
piece.
