Internal Parasites

A very interesting piece, this cricket is carrying an internal parasite. As you can see, it's in a curled up form in the abdomen. Usually parasites are found outside or near their hosts in green river pieces; they tend to burrow out or get ejected out of recently deceased hosts, but in this case, the parasite was a little slow.
